Purchased 2 weeks ago, already have lost whirlpool badge, fell off, and the fridge handle is already loose.mot liking the way shelves in fridge part are set up,not enough spaces for tall bottles and milk cartons.Not liking the third drawer in fridge, only need two.Ice maker makes a mess in tray.

Problems Right from the Start

First let me say Home Depo is GREAT. The color on the frig is a super shiny BLACK but if you call Whrilpool , they have no idea. I called 5 times to them & got 3 different answers. When i got delivered again H/D guys where GREAT. This frig was so LOUD OMG.. I called Whirlpool and they where worthless but I got the # to the local appliance repair they came out and said the compressor needs to replaced. So they just replaced it this am. Well NOW it does not SNORE or girl anymore. The one thing I dont like about it is the shelves are not adjustable. So if you try and put a normal size bottle of Dasani water its 8.25 tall but the shelves are only 7 inches a part Unless you remove one of the slide out draws.

Poor ice maker and shelf design

We've had this refrigerator for just over a year now. On the first ice maker the flapper door did not close at the right speed and usually caught an ice cube in the flap - which then melted, spilled water, and also let warm air into the freezer. We had that replaced just before warranty ran out (after always checking it and removing it by hand for a year). Now, we came back from vacation, and the ice maker is not making ice at all. So we'll have to make an expensive call to have it looked at for repair (just a couple months outside of warranty). Very frustrating. Also, some other design features are not ideal - the refrigerator shelves are not adjustable, so all tall items have to fit on the top shelf; or you slide in the half shelf... but that takes away a significant amount of shelf storage. Otherwise, it's been a fine refrigerator. Fingerprint resistant stainless is nice, and it looks good in the kitchen. But the job of a refrigerator isn't really to look good, is it?

Perfect size for a couple or a smaller family

Since I live in a house built for a smaller family, I needed a refrigerator that would fit in the kitchen space allocated for a refrigerator no wider than 36" X 69". I found the Whirlpool Model No. WRS555SIHZ00 fit perfectly and it still has all the many features that I was looking for, and at half the price of some of the other more expensive refrigerators.

Compressor noise

The refrigerator is great. It has all the space I need. The compressor is noisy and irritating. It stays on a long time and the noise level makes me not want to do anything in the kitchen. It needs some kind of muffler or insulator on or around it. I would not purchase this again.

I bought this refrigerator in December and it stopped working in January. It took two weeks for Whirlpool to send a technician and get a diagnosis. After seven weeks, I'm still waiting for the refrigerator's door to be delivered. Hopefully it will arrive before the technician appointment in May. I wish I had bought a different bran.

Poor design for glass shelves in Freezer.

The glass shelves with plastic front and back edges can't be removed to clean, as water freezes on shelves when trying to wash, and who would defrost and shut down the entire unit to do it. also bottom cover plate or kick plate is warped and does not cover hinge properly on freezer side and not easy to remove, watched delivery person and dealership sent someone to look at concerns. $1,400.00 dollars, Wife not happy. Apparently design engineers don't know anything about having to clean freezers.

Needs better features

Much can be improved on this refrigerator. First of all the interior shelves are not adjustable only the door shelves are adjustable. It runs rather loud and rolls very easily when trying to open the doors. I had to put shims under the wheels, which don't lock, so I wasn't constantly pulling it away from the wall. My previous GE was a much better refrigerator.

You have to use a little cup to get ice out, when using a normal size cup you have to tilt it and seems like you are going to break the arm like that, very easy to hit the water when trying to get some ice

My old refrigerator gave out at the most inopportune time but upon doing some research on refrigerators I decided to go with this one as it was on sale and it had all the features I needed. I have yet to run out of ice and it is a nice addition to the freezer. It holds plenty of food and the only concerning thing I may have is the fan shuts off when the door opens. Otherwise it is a wonderful addition to my appliances. I have no complaints at this time,

The frig is so cool and the freeZer is roomy and cold.. the one thing that I don't like is the water and ice dispenser it is to small to fit a large glass under and the water dispenser shoot water everytime I try to get ice... this is very annoying and for this reason I would think twice about this model..
