Instructional manual deficient.

I purchased my new Whirlpool washer and dryer to replace my 16 year old Duets. I had always liked my Duets but it was time for them to retire, the dryer had taken early retirement. I selected Whirlpool for its reliability. The new washer had a load and go feature that I thought I would never use, but decided to try after the delivery. Instructions for the load and go are almost nil. You get how to fill the container and how to clean it. I pushed the button and checked half way through the cycle, no soap. I called Whirlpool and the person I talked with had no clue about the operation of this feature and the actual operation is never addressed in the manual. Can one select water temp on load and go, can one select the time on load and go? I've tried on a few separate occasions and it seems the load and go reverts back to the last load washed, but no soap. I actually love Whirlpool machines, but have a feature I paid for but can't use.

This unit was purchased at Sears and I believe they sold me a returned/used washing machine although I paid for a new unit. That said, I have used the unit less than 5 times and had to call for a service technician. Parts have been ordered and far exceed the price of washing machine. Was told by Whirlpool I would receive a replacement but on a second call to them found out this is not how they plan on resolving the issues with the unit. Waiting on parts to arrive and the unit has been sitting while my laundry piles up.

I bought this at the Labor Day sale. It had to be specially ordered. It makes clunking sounds when it first starts up in the sensing cycle. It sounds very tinny. I had a duet set for 10 years prior. They seemed much more solid.

Mold in the soap dispenser

A Little Disappointed

I bought the washer a few weeks ago. The capacity is great! You pretty much have to have the pedistals because the machine is so low to the ground. The pedistals were on back order so hopefully they will be delivered in November. Sometimes the sensor does not read or feel my finger so it can take a long time to start the wash. It took my husband and I a very long time to figure out how to turn on the Load and Go. There were no directions in the Manuel. If you change the wash setting sometimes the Load and Go turns off. So if you have to look EVERY time to make sure it is on. Not very efficient. I love the idea of Load and Go but once you turn it in, it should STAY on. Also, there is no sound when it is done as in the previous models.

Whirlpool vs Samsung

I had Samsung front loader with the little door to add items that were forgotten. That washer did not clean nor wash our clothes very well. I always wash separately tops, pants, towels, sheets and shorts with under garments. Never a full load and still couldn't wash our clothes very well. Now that I have had whirlpool, we can tell a world of a difference. Thank you whirlpool for putting a lot of time and care for our clothes. I now believe that my clothes will be lasting longer.

I bought this washer to replace our Samsung washer. It has some cool features like the option to wash a few garments (son's football uniform) and it will dry it overnight with the fan. The only thing that is different to get use to is holding the start button for 3 seconds for each load. Small thing really. The washer isn't small though-nice large capacity! I haven't tried the automatic dispenser for detergent since I use fabric softer in each load anyway so I just add detergent for each load too. Overall, great washer!

I've only been using this a short time but so far I love it! Unbelievable how much less damp the clothes are when cycle is done compared to my last washer. My only complaint would be, I wish the door were reversible. My set up has the washer on the right, dryer on the left. The door on the washer is not able to be switched, which kinda sucks.

It only worked for 2 of the first 4 weeks. the appliance store finally came out the second time and said if it broke again they would just replace it. The store known for its service dept took practically an entire week each time to get to our house to fix it.

VERY CONFUSED

Just got these to replace our Duets which blew out due to a power surge. The washer is LOUD!! It sounds like someone is banging on a Gong during the wash and spin cycle. I am shocked!! Also, the instructions tell you in one part to push the "Load and Go" to DISABLE the larger dispenser if you just want to add detergent at the top. I have washed several loads now WITHOUT soap because I did not press the "Load and Go" feature because, as it says, you press it to DISABLE THAT FEATURE. Reading in another section of the instructions, it says to press "Load and Go" if you ONLY want it to use the soap from the larger dispenser. THAT makes more sense but WHY does it say both?? SO CONFUSING. I can't believe I did all those loads with NO SOAP!! I don't think I can stand the noise from the washer---it is NERVE WRACKING! Maybe I received a defective one? I've only had this set for less than a week.

I've had the pair for a few days and I love it. I had the first whirlpool front loader from 16 years ago! This one is soooo quiet and I love the all the load options.

I've had this machine for two weeks. Still getting familiar with all of the wash choices but love it so far. Best feature is the Load & Go option. Unlike a previous reviewer, this machine is much quieter than my previous 20-year old Whirlpool Washer.

Just set the washer and dryer up, Three kids in. Have them in our upstairs laundry room. Can't believe how loud they are - the washer especially. As loud, if not louder, than our old maytags. Sending them back - even if I need to pay a restocking fee. Had whirlpools 15 years ago that we're undercounter in a city aprartment - loved them. Shocked at these units. Especially at this price point.
