touch screen in dangerous!

We are happy with this range other then the touch screen. It is very sensitive and very dangerous. This week we dripped a couple of drops of water on the screen when making a baby bottle at 1am and the oven turned itself on BROIL without us knowing. We woke 4 hrs later to the smell of melting plastic and the exhaust fan had turned on automatically from the intense heat. The entire kitchen was very hot. It was terrifying to find the oven on broil at 500 degrees in the middle of the night without us knowing. We would get rid of the touch screen in a heartbeat if we could! Also it does not keep time. The clock runs fast and every few months it is over 10 mins ahead.

Easy to use

We have recently updated our kitchen and appreciate the sleek look of this appliances. The EZ-2-Lift grates are a great feature and make cleaning easier. The oven size is more than adequate. Slight challenge getting use to the burners as the flame runs stronger than I am use to even in the lowest setting. Moving the pan slightly off the burner on the continuous grates helps. I haven't been able to connect to the WiFi function but not as concerned as I don't think I would use it very often. Oven size is excellent. Technical support has been outstanding for any of the initial questions I have had regarding the appliance.

Not a good buy !!

Bought this "pretty" stove mid Dec. 2018. The control panel stopped working on Dec 17 ! Had the stove three (3) days. Not fixed until 2019 It is now May and the control panel has stopped again. 2,300$ for a five (5) burner stove top is quite expensive. Please take the time to read the reviews on NON Whirlpool sites !! DO NOT buy Whirlpool !! I expect this review to be removed from the Whirlpool site.

This stove came with our newly built house and from the beginning we have had issues with the display not working correctly. Unfortunately you need it to make the oven work. We had it repaired twice now Andrea it's still having the same issue. Wish we could trade models.

I have had the oven since July. Does anyone else have an issue with the touch screen resetting itself, touching the screen and nothing happens, touching the screen and it double clicks itself? Furthermore, I now have a rattling when the fan is on. If I push on the door, the rattle stops, but I cannot stand there holding it. The rattle has now caused the light to blow and it appears the convection fan in the back has stopped working. The repai man was just here and he ordered a mother board for the touch pad, but will tackle the fan when he has the new part. I love my oven, but all these issues six months in worry me greatly. I even waited months for it to come in in white.

Terrible Experience

I have had a terrible experience with this oven. I bought it in August and am soon to have my fourth service call. The stove top works fine, but the oven works inconsistently--sometimes will not fire at all or will turn off in the middle of cooking something. I can't even plan what's for dinner effectively, since I can't count on the appliance being operational at any given time. The burner knobs are constantly being hit and end up being turned on inadvertently. In addition, the digital controls don't respond well to touch. I have always had good luck with Whirlpool products, but in this case, I am very close to requesting a replacement or a refund. The experience and performance of this (physically beautiful) oven has been THAT poor.

Bought this a month ago and it looks great in our kitchen. The oven heats up quick. The burners are huge! What I hate about it is the left front burner is unusable. It is way to big. The flames come out of the burner like a blow torch. Even my 12 inch pan can't contain the flames. Maybe there is something wrong with it. Other than that burner I am happy with my purchase.

We ordered a new oven and its broken. No wonder they want you to pay extra money for someone to check things. Redic. We are renovating our kitchen so we wouldn't have even had that option. We called whirlpool, they sent someone, they couldn't come bc they didn't have the part - now I'm stuck with a broken oven, a 1 month old baby, and heading back to work. They want to fix this instead of replace it for free... not happy and do not recommend this product.

Great concerns with oven

Unsafe, dangerous gas range. Unsatisfactory response after four repair calls in two months on new Smart, slide in gas range. It is a potential fire hazard and no one w/Whirlpool seems to be overly concerned or take responsibility for it. In response to my questions, I just receive lengthy emails on the research behind the development of this smart-very hot gas range. The surrounding cabinets, oven, surrounding granite counter tops, back splash, oven door are too hot to touch once oven is at cooking temperature and is baking/roasting.I have followed all the suggestions, had installation requirements rechecked and as well as the actual installation. Since no one from the Whirlpool provided service techs can explain why this happens-I'm told to just keep grandkids and others away from it when I'm cooking. This is an unacceptable solution. It's a brand new range.. I shouldn't have to worry about a child being injured from it because he puts something on the kitchen counter when I have the oven on. This is an unsafe product and the response is not acceptable. Apparently I am not alone as another person has the same issue (see below). An addition, again, the oven does not heat to selected temperature. If you select 350 degrees, it stops preheating at 325. That has been addressed and a piece replaced. Four weeks later the oven again, does not heat to selected temperature. What happened to #EveryDayCare for your customers?? Review 1 Vote 1 ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 1 out of 5 stars. Some Things to Consider

This range is beautiful and may do well over time. I've had this for just a few weeks. I'm not an excellent cook, so I'm still getting used to all of its features. I'm somewhat pleased with the purchase. Some of the negatives that I've encountered are: 1. The grates: a. I miss the 4 separate grates of my old stove. If you have any hand ailments, it's difficult to hold up the grate while wiping underneath. b. When I use a small pan on the small back burners, the pan wobbles. This is due to the spacing on the grate. It's too wide to let the small pans sit stable. 2. The Touchscreen a. I didn't think about the danger of having the touchscreen face upwards rather than to face the front. I see a small nick in my screen. I don't know how it happened, but it seems it can be damaged if a pan or utensil is accidentally dropped or set too heavily on it. Not something I would do intentionally, but accidents do happen. b. It's very sensitive, which is good and bad. Something as simple as spraying cleaner on this panel, the force of the spray will trigger the controls. 3. Scan and Cook a. Not all foods qualify. Where is the list of foods that work with Scan and Cook? b. Once the settings are ready, I still have to walk to the stove to push start. If I pick up a food product at the store, I'd like to be able to scan it right then so that the oven will be ready when I get home. 4. Cook Timer – if I set the timer, it begins counting down right away. This will include the time it takes to preheat, which shortens the cook time. I've found that I need to wait until the oven is ready before setting the cook time.
