Structural Integrity a Problem

We just bought our food processor attachment in July from Target, and use it 3-5 times per week. The product has never been dropped, is stored on its own shelf, and the housing has never gotten wet. Over the last few days, the unit housing has developed cracks (perhaps form vibration from the stand mixer?). In any event, a unit made to attach to a stand mixer should NOT be failing this quickly.

I have gone through two processor attachments. Within warranty, Kitchen Aid has replaced. After the second I thought it was my old mixer, so I bought a new Artisan. Put the attachment in that works and the attachment jumps in the hub. Write me Kitchen Aid and I will send you the videos because this is not right. A tech told me it was my 25 year old mixer that was at fault. Now, I seriously doubt this.

I bought the mixer and added the attachment at the same time. I had hurt my wrist/hand and couldn't slice potatoes and apples without flaring the pain again. The slicing attachment was an answer to the issue. I can't wait to put it to use over the holidays! I needed help with the initial assembly or I would have rated it 5 stars.

Makes Prep so Fast

I've had the food processor attachment for at least 6 months and it I a great time saver. I love the slicer,especially since you can adjust the thickness easily. I preserve my vegetables and fruits. This makes quick work to prep them. I use the dicer to can relishes and make fresh pick de gallo. This attachment has to be a part of your Kitchenaid arsenal, well worth it!

Mislabeled

This is definitely NOT a food processor. It is an slicer and you still have to cut your vegetables small enough to fit through the mouth of the piece. I wanted to shredded cabbage, so I had to cut a small piece about 1.5 inches X3 inches to be able to fit it through. I would say that if you want an actual food processor get the 10 cups Food processor machine they carry. I think the product is mislabeled and misleading. Too expensive.

Big disappointment

We bought the new mixer last year and the processing attachment ready for my new kitchen that's just finished being installed. It's very slow compared to other products we have had in the past. Unfortunately the food gets stuck in the top of the food processor on top of the cutting plate no matter what vegetable of food we use. Very disappointed in this product- we are going to have to buy a different brand/unit as my husband gets very frustrated with it. He has read reviews and we are not the only ones with the same issue. We spent a lot of money on something that struggles to do the job it was made for. Shame because I love my mixer and KitchenAid brand in general.

I bought this 4 months ago, as the plastic on the turntable of my kitchenaid countertop food processor had disintegrated. It was old so I decided to just update. I bought this item. While it slices and dices very well, it is not a food processor in the traditional sense. There is no bowl, therefore all it can do is slice and dice. The food drops out of the bottom so you need a bowl to catch it. It is useless for making dressings, sauces, dips or doughs. Very disappointed.

I was so excited when I received the food processor for my new KitchenAid but was instantly disappointed. After a half of a carrot was chopped, the whole unit started spinning in the hub. Now the KitchenAid logo won't stay put. I couldn't have tightened the attachment any more. Yes, this happened first time out of the box. I probably won't be able to use other attachments as I think the knob isn't the problem.

This item is labeled incorrectly, the definition of Food Processor is: food proc(BULLET)es(BULLET)sor (noun) an electric kitchen appliance used for chopping, mixing, or pureeing foods. This item chops, slices and Julienne's. it does NOT mix or puree food. My son bought it for me for Christmas as I have most of the attachments and I love kitchen aid however, this was a extremely disappointing. Mixer Attachment Shaft Too Short

Great for small dicing

We bought this to help with meal prep. One day a week, I prep all lunches and dinners for our family for a week. We love to do roasted chicken and veggies. Recently, the amount of chopping to do this dish was weighing on me. I'd spend about 7 hours prepping 5 dinners of chicken and veggies, as well as our lunches for the week. My husband bought this for us to help with chopping. I love it, but I do wish it came with an option for larger diced food, instead of just really small diced food. Hopefully this is a dicer KitchenAid will make for this processor in the near future!

So disappointing

I have been a long time KitchenAid user, for over 25 years and my mother over 30 years. I bought this attachment because I love my stand mixer and I like the idea of having one appliance with multiple functions. Plus, meal prepping takes time and I was hoping this would speed up the process instead of having to hand cut, dice, slice and chop. Unfortunately, this does not fit the bill. The shredding consistency was uneven, it jams very easily, the feeding tube is entirely too small. I end up having to stop the mixer repeatedly to clear the jam and overall my cooking time increases when this should've cut my time down substantially. I've tried using it for different vegetables and I've never had success, despite following the instructions. All in all I'm sad about it because it's an expensive attachment and I still have to go spend the money on an actual food processor that I know will get the job done.

Used only a few times and the housing cracked!

I was given the food processor with the accessory disks for Christmas last year. I used the grating disk for some cheddar cheese and the housing cracked on the back of the food processor. This has rendered it useless. The cheese was not frozen. It did function adequately the few times I was able to use it. I guess it will maker a good paperweight.

Hi! I bought a food processor attachment with commercial style dicing kit. In a description to this attachment you said it is fit to all Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixers. Mine mixer is KL26M1XER (s/n W72088811) and this attachment doesn't fit to the mixer. It looks like the hub of the mixer is to long for the attachment and attachment doesn't rotate. I was so disappointment about it, because it was a present and because of the inaccurate description this surprise was spoiled.

Sorry folks but if your going to say it is a food processor then make a food processor. This is a basic salad shooter that slices and dices. I need a food processor so I can make food for my special needs granddaughter. Keep trying. I do love your mixer

I bought this with the express intent of chopping onions. With the accessory blades and screen, it does a great job. Clean up is a different story! The razor sharp screen below the slicing blade, traps onion particle in it's intersections. I have tried the nylon brush scrubbbing and the dishwasher to no avail. I am going to try an Ultrasonic cleaner next, but until then be sure to set your dishwasher at "Steralize." Onions are bacteria magnets!

I consider myself pretty savy in the cooking area and my husband bought me this a year ago and still to this day I can not get it to work. I have tried everything and it will not do anything. Super disappointed as this would have been used so much in my kitchen.

Wish I had wrote my review earlier....purchased this about 2 years ago for myself as a splurge for Xmas. I have tried it on different occasions only once again to be disappointed and VERY frustrated.. I am shocked because Kitchen Aid usually does things so well. Here I am 2 years later still wanting that food processor I was promised...keep looking at them, but, after shelling out so much "single momma $$" I feel I can't justify the purchase. Super bummed

Almost a home run

I bought this attachment for myself as a birthday present this past May. I am very pleased with the performance of all of the blades. The dicer works great! I am disappointed that there isn't a way to block the food from the shoot so that it can be used as a legit food processor. I got rid of my food processor so that I could condense my kitchen gadgets... Looks like I'm going to have to buy another one. Kitchen Aid...we need to figure this out.

This should 100% be labeled an automatic slicer not food processor, but I guess for the price copy came up with a good title. If you want to make a salsa or hummus or pesto or anything that you would make in a normal food processor, this is not your attachment. I have the meat grinder, pasta makers and a few other attachments but this is by far the worst attachment for the price. KITCHEN AID SIMPLY TITLE THIS FOOD SLICER NOT PROCESSOR.

I was really hoping this was going to be a great purchase. Unfortunately, as has previously been reviewed, this is not a food processor but more of a chopper, and not all that great to be honest. It jams, leaks, and pieces of food gets stuck in areas of the machine that make it difficult to clean out. Disappointing product from Kitchen Aid

I've had problems with this from day one. But tried to work with it thinking I'd give it a good chance. Never worked well, liquid and food leaked between the liner and the processor regardless of how little I put through, liquid and food gets in the lining inside the lid, I can't get this cleaned out. I was offered a "curtesy" discount for a replacement lid. Customer service didn't provide much help other than that. For $200 I expected better. Should've bought a stand alone processor
