Super quiet disposal

I was doubtful when salesman said this was very quiet as my current one was so loud we could not hear the TV , however, he was absoutely right, its so quiet I didnt think it was working, love it.

I would have rated this a 5 Star except the disposal is loud when running. I was very disappointed as my kitchen is in an open area and all the reviews that I read talked about how amazingly quiet this particular disposal is. I had it installed by a licensed plumber. Not sure why mine is so loud. Other than that, I love the features and so far, it works great.

We just bought this disposer for a condo that we are remodeling; we bought it on the recommendation of our kitchen designer and appliance supplier.. We have not owned or used a disposer in decades, since we have lived in a home with a septic system. Today's disposer bears little resemblance to what we used many years ago. We have only used this KitchenAid a few times (we have yet to move in), but I must say that it is very quiet and ground up apple cores in a jiffy. I think we are going to like it a lot!

I've had one of these for several years. I really couldn't believe how quietly it ran, and how powerfully it obliterated anything put down the drain. You almost can't hear it running over the running water. I was just waiting for the other InSinkErator to die so I could replace it without guilt. In comparison, it was much louder, took longer to clear objects, and finally died from citrus peels. With the second KitchenAid installed (all of 15 minutes), the vibration was gone, and the kitchen was quiet again.

Long Lives and one still ticking

I bought a KitchenAid Imperial disposal - actually two of them - in 2004 for our two kitchen sinks. This weekend, one of them started dripping water from the bottom when turned on. I am guessing that after 14 years of daily operation, the unit's internal seals are worn out. I think I got my money's worth out of this purchase. The second disposal is still working fine and we never had a repair to either over the past 14 years.

Quality that is both quiet and powerful! I couldn't be happier with this disposer. Even though our previous disposer wasn't a KitchenAid, this new disposer attached to the existing plumbing without any problems or re-routing of the piping. The heavy construction is evident throughout, even the sink flange and drain stopper are made of a higher quality stainless steel than others I've seen. The instructions are clearly written and illustrated so you don't need a professional plumber to install if you have basic mechanical skills. It's so quiet, once its in place under the sink you don't even know it's there until you see just about any thing you can throw at it disappear down the drain!

Durable and Whisper Quiet

We replaced a KitchenAid waste disposer that we had used since we built our home 18 years ago. So, our only option was another KitchenAid. We went with the same HP rating and we chose this model because of its stainless steel construction and its outstanding durability. But the biggest feature of this unit is how quiet it is.
