I have now been using my Amana 6.5 cu ft dryer for over a month and must say it has been a terrific addition to my laundry needs. It is very quiet, with numerous timed and selection options. I have several heavy laundered items, such a sweatshirts, blankets and jeans. the timing selections for such items is very accurate and there is no doubt that these items will be properly dried and ready to wear. The wrinkle prevention option saves me from ironing. I do not use any fabric softeners and because of Amana's technology do not need any. My Amana is powered by propane gas and I am very happy with its performance.

It has been a long time since I had a gas dryer and could not be more pleased with this one. For some reason, the gas dryers are $100 more than electric, but they do a much better and more efficient job. This Amana performs very well and is priced well below other more "sophisticated" brands. if you have a gas utility I highly recommend purchasing this Amana. Is does a great job.

Arrived with broken motor!

I purchased this model at Menard's. I waited a week for delivery, but they don't vent it for you. So my dad and I vent it, turn it on and there's a horrible noise. There was nothing left in the drum, so I spent the next week waiting for Amana to come and repair the dryer. They came yesterday and said it needs a new motor and it will be another week before the thing is (hopefully) repaired. I am just hoping they get it up and running and it lasts for a while. Guess I'll have to keep borrowing my parents' washer and dryer in the meantime.

We bought this drayer 3 months ago as our new home did not come with one, every one in my family thanked me for choosing this drayer as it's big enough to take care of our draying needs for a family of four and at the same time fits nicely next to our existing washer. Controls are simple and operation is much quieter than some of our previous drayers. As it has a larger drum, it seems to be more efficient as there is more room for hot air to circulate and take the moisture away. It has ample size fine screen lint filter which is easily accessible and easy to clean. We specially like the cool down feature as it leaves clothes wrinkle free. I will give it 5 stars on my whole family's behalf.

We had a dryer from the 1980's though quality made finally stopped working. So, we called Ross Appliance and one of the owners recommended this Amana Dryer. And we are so happy with it! Our clothes come out dry and with few wrinkles! The wide dryer door allows for easy access. It has a slide out filter on the top that is handy for cleaning. Many different settings to select from.

Forced to buy this as a replacement for a relatively new dryer I lost in the great Granite City sewage flood. Love it and it works perfectly. Did not realize it has a "wrinkle prevent option" going to have to check that out. Only complaint is the lint screen is on the top/surface of the dryer rather than down by the door.

This dryer does not dry

I bought this approximately 1 month ago. I have dried things for 2 and 1/4 hours and items were still not dry. I have tried the "more dry" setting, no dry, I have put it on 60 minutes twice!, still no dry. Isn't there a sensor? I have to down the basement and check that it has dried because there does not seem to be a sensor. Will probably contact Home Depot to take it back.
